AlignMyRead helps readers thoughtfully evaluate how a book’s content compares to biblical truth. Each review includes a score from 0 to 10, reflecting how closely the themes, messages, and ideas in a book align with Scripture and Christian values.
How we review books
Scores are not based on whether a book is labeled “Christian” or “secular,” but on what it actually communicates.
- A novel that reflects biblical principles — truth, sacrifice, humility, redemption — may receive a high score, even if it isn’t explicitly Christian.
- A theological or Christian-labeled book may receive a lower score if its teachings contradict or misrepresent Scripture.
What the scores mean
- 0 — Not Aligned. Content directly contradicts biblical teaching or promotes ideas opposed to Scripture.
- 1–3 — Low Alignment. Contains themes or messages that frequently conflict with biblical principles.
- 4–6 — Neutral / Mixed. Neither clearly aligned nor clearly opposed. May include a mix of positive and concerning elements.
- 7–9 — High Alignment. Generally reflects biblical values, though not perfectly or consistently.
- 10 — Fully Aligned. Strongly consistent with Scripture and presents ideas that are biblically sound and edifying.

- A summary of the book
- Areas of biblical alignment
- Areas of concern
- Context to help you understand why a book received its rating
- A recommendation
- Key themes & topics
- Intended audience
Our goal
AlignMyRead is not here to tell you what you can or cannot read. Instead, the goal is to:
- Help you discern rather than blindly consume
- Encourage you to think critically through a biblical lens
- Equip you to make your own informed decisions
Every reader is on their own journey. What may be beneficial for one person could be distracting or challenging for another. This site is meant to provide clarity, insight, and guidance so you can approach reading with intention and confidence.
